VIDEO: Violinist Covers Van Halen’s ‘Eruption,’ Crushes It

Van Halen’s “Eruption” is an iconic guitar solo for the ages, but what would it sound like on a violin?

We now know thanks to Jill, a member of the Japanese metal band Unlucky Morpheus, whose select members are also part of an instrumental covers side-project called QUADRATUM. In the video below, Jill masterfully covers “Eruption” in all of its blistering glory.

The cover is featured on the recently released covers album Loud Playing Workshop, the debut album from QUADRATUM. Loud Playing Workshop is currently available via Amazon’s Japanese site.
