Gojira has premiered an official video capturing their performance at the 2024 Olympics opening ceremony in France.
As you surely remember, the French metallers delivered a striking rendition of the song “Mea Culpa (Ah! Ça Ira)” alongside opera singer Marina Viotti while standing in the windows of Paris’ Concierge building next to figures including a decapitated Marie Antoinette holding her own head.
“Gojira made history as the first metal band to ever perform at the Olympic Games during the opening ceremony of the 2024 Summer Olympics in Paris, France on July 26,” the video description reads. “The performance made international headlines and was widely regarded as one of the most talked about moments from the 2024 Summer Olympics.”
You can watch the official “Mea Culpa (Ah! Ça Ira)” video streaming now on YouTube.
The Olympics performance is also nominated for Best Metal Performance at the 2025 Grammys.
