Red Hot Chili Peppers’  video for “Go Robot” begins with Anthony Kiedis covered in white paint, wearing a bowler hat and codpiece, strutting through New York City. It’s an obvious reference to John Travolta’s role as Tony Manero in Saturday Night Fever.

The nods to the 1977 disco flick continue as Kiedis sneaks into a club packed with dancers gliding across a luminescent checkerboard dance floor. As the pasty rocker finds his groove among the dancers, he suddenly encounters his soul mate, a similarly white-painted woman. The pair dance the night away in goofy ecstasy.

“Go Robot” appears on the Red Hot Chili Peppers’ new album, The Getaway, which was produced by Danger Mouse and released in June. The LP marked the group’s first since 2011’s I’m With You.
