Yungblud plans to honor the late Ozzy Osbourne by covering the Black Sabbath song “Changes” at all his shows. He performed the classic track at the Back to the Beginning concert on July 5, which was the last show featuring the original Black Sabbath lineup and marked Ozzy’s final performance.
Just over two weeks later, on July 22, Ozzy’s family announced that he had passed away at the age of 76. In an emotional Instagram post, Yungblud shared his feelings about performing for Ozzy. He wrote, “To sing this song for you at an event surrounded by legends inspired by you to a crowd that loved you was truly my life’s greatest honor.” He also vowed to play “Changes” every night for the rest of his life.
Yungblud expressed how much Ozzy meant to him, calling him “my hero in every regard.” He added a heartfelt wish that Ozzy is “up there [having] a drink with Randy,” referring to Ozzy’s late guitarist Randy Rhoads. He concluded his post with a touching message: “For the prince of darkness, you sure brought all the light to the world. I love you, Ozzy.”
Fans can look forward to Yungblud’s tribute to Ozzy at his upcoming shows, celebrating the legacy of one of rock’s greatest icons.
