The Philadelphia Mummers Parade is gearing up to celebrate its 125th anniversary on New Year’s Day, January 1, 2026. The parade kicks off at City Hall at 9 a.m. and heads south to Washington Avenue, wrapping up around 5 p.m.
Parade organizers recently shared exciting details about the event, including the return of Live! Casino and Hotel as the title sponsor. This anniversary is especially meaningful as it coincides with America’s 250th birthday.
This year, the parade will feature five divisions, 35 brigades, and around 10,000 Mummers strutting their stuff through the streets of Philadelphia. Sam Regalbuto, president of the Philadelphia Mummers String Band Association, expressed the significance of this milestone, saying, “This is a once-in-a-lifetime occasion for us. We want to celebrate it as best we can.”
To mark the 125th anniversary, the Mummers will also introduce their first-ever plush doll. The doll features a smiling, red-haired woman in a shiny, plumed jacket, playing a banjo. While it’s not available just yet, you can expect to find it soon at the Live! Casino and Hotel gift shop.
The parade is free for everyone to enjoy and will be broadcast on WDPN and METV2. It will also be simulcast in the Lehigh Valley on WFMZ, Channel 69, and available on major cable providers like Comcast, Fios, DirectTV, and Dish. You can also catch the parade live on the WFMZ website and mobile app.
In 2023, a USA TODAY poll named the Mummers Parade the No. 1 parade in America. Stay tuned for the results of the 2025 poll!
