A 13-year-old fan named Lathan took the stage with Limp Bizkit on Sunday, Oct. 11 at The Truth in Nashville, Tennessee, and performed “Full Nelson.” Fred Durst pulled him up after spotting a sign that read “I’m 13, Full Nelson,” according to PRP.
Fans filmed the show and posted clips online. They say Lathan took over the vocals on the breakdown of the track, according to Vice.
Lathan wore a red flat-bill cap, the same style Durst made famous in the late 1990s and 2000s. He copied many of the singer’s moves too. When the song ended, Durst raised the teen’s arm to cheer him on.
Before the music started, Durst joked with Lathan’s father and scolded him for steering his son toward this kind of music. The song appears on the 2000 album Chocolate Starfish and the Hot Dog Flavored Water. Lathan wasn’t even born when it came out.
The show opened a two-night stay at the venue. It was the band’s first headlining show in Nashville since 1999. Limp Bizkit played The Truth again on Monday, Oct. 12, according to the tour listing.
The band started in Jacksonville, Florida, in 1994, when Durst and Sam Rivers founded the group. Drummer John Otto and guitarist Wes Borland joined soon after. DJ Lethal is also a member.
Limp Bizkit has sold 40 million albums around the world, per Billboard, and earned three GRAMMY nominations. Its debut, Three Dollar Bill, Y’all, came out in 1997. Bigger success followed with Significant Other in 1999 and Chocolate Starfish and the Hot Dog Flavored Water in 2000.
The Truth opened on Oct. 1 in the Wedgewood-Houston neighborhood of Nashville. The multi-story venue holds 4,400 seats. Guests can choose ground-level general admission, a lounge, a balcony, standing-room areas, or box seats. At The Setlist Studio, fans can also pick up custom screen prints of the night’s setlist.
The Chicks play the venue on Thursday, Oct. 15. Tedeschi Trucks Band follows on Friday, Oct. 16, then Sting on Tuesday, Oct. 20, and Rawayana on Wednesday, Oct. 21.
Next, Limp Bizkit heads overseas. The band has shows set for Dec. 9 in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, and Dec. 13 in Soweto, South Africa. It plays Mumbai, India, on Jan. 23 and 24, 2027. A North American stadium run starts May 8, 2027, at BC Place Stadium in Vancouver.
