Limp Bizkit bassist Sam Rivers dead at 48

Sam Rivers, the bassist of Limp Bizkit, has passed away at the age of 48. The band shared the news in an emotional Instagram post, saying, “Today we lost our brother. Our bandmate. Our heartbeat.”

Rivers was more than just a bass player; he was described as “pure magic.” The band highlighted his role as the driving force behind their music, calling him “the pulse beneath every song” and “the calm in the chaos.”

Co-founding Limp Bizkit with frontman Fred Durst in the mid-’90s, Rivers played on all of the band’s albums, including the iconic “Significant Other” and “Chocolate Starfish and the Hot Dog Flavored Water.”

The band reflected on their time together, saying, “From the first note we ever played, Sam brought a light and a rhythm that could never be replaced.” They cherished the many moments they shared, stating that each one was special because Rivers was part of it.

In closing, the band called him “a once-in-a-lifetime kind of human” and a “true legend.” They promised that his spirit would live on in their music and memories, saying, “We love you, Sam. We’ll carry you with us, always. Rest easy, brother. Your music never ends.”

DJ Lethal, the band’s turntablist, also expressed his grief in the comments, saying, “We are in shock. Rest in power my brother! You will live on through your music and the lives you helped save.” The loss of Sam Rivers is deeply felt by fans and friends alike.
