The family of late Metallica bassist Cliff Burton has shared the details for the 2026 Cliff Burton Day. The event will be held on February 10, which is Burton’s birthday, at the Chabot Theater in Castro Valley, California, his hometown.
This year’s celebration will feature a special appearance by Mike Bordin, the drummer from Faith No More. Members of the road crew from Metallica’s Damage, Inc. tour will also join in to honor the 40th anniversary of the tour.
For fans who can’t make it in person, the event will be streamed live on YouTube starting at 7 p.m. PT.
The Damage, Inc. tour supported Metallica’s iconic 1986 album, Master of Puppets. Tragically, Cliff Burton lost his life in a bus accident during the European leg of the tour in September 1986, at the age of 24.
