40-Plus Philadelphia Arts Groups To Team Up for Six-Week Fall Festival

More than 40 independent galleries, artist-run spaces, and community arts groups are teaming up for Collective Futures. The six-week festival runs Oct. 2–Nov. 15 and will pack Philly with shows, performances, workshops, and public events across Kensington, Fishtown, Old City, West Philly, and North Chinatown.

A launch party on Oct. 1 kicks things off. Many venues will host receptions during First Friday and Second Thursday nights. Each space will present its own lineup of exhibitions, live performances, and public programs — so there’ll be plenty to explore for fans of art and music.

Festival highlights:
– Print Time After Time (Oct. 9–11) at Icebox Project Space — a weekend of printmaking events that ends with a public print fair.
– A transformed Icebox exhibition that turns the gallery into a mall featuring works by eight artist collectives.
– The World To Come — a weekly Wednesday performance series at Christ Church Gardens presented by People’s Music Supply, running through October.
– Parallel Play Symposium (Oct. 24–25) at Asian Arts Initiative — panels and hands-on workshops focused on collaborative artmaking.

Notable participants include Cherry Street Pier, Asian Arts Initiative, Da Vinci Art Alliance, Paradigm Gallery + Studio, Space 1026, Tiger Strikes Asteroid Philadelphia, Vox Populi, and more. Check the Collective Futures website for the full schedule and venue details.

If you love live performance, art-driven events, and discovering local scenes, Collective Futures is a great reason to get out and explore Philly this fall.
