Seventy-year-old Carla Well-Knight got to see her favorite band, Nine Inch Nails, live. She is currently in hospice care for breast cancer and was thrilled to attend the band’s Peel It Back tour stop in Phoenix on September 16.
Carla has been a lifelong fan of Nine Inch Nails, even sporting a tattoo of their logo on her arm. She also enjoys music from bands like Korn, Tool, A Perfect Circle, and Linkin Park. Despite her tough situation, she is well-known for her kindness at her senior living facility in Mesa, Arizona.
One of Carla’s caretakers nominated her for AARP’s Wish of a Lifetime program, which helps older adults fulfill their dreams through special experiences. Thanks to this program, Carla received floor seats to the concert, allowing her to enjoy the show up close and even join the mosh pit.
The Peel It Back tour wrapped up recently in Los Angeles, and Nine Inch Nails also released their soundtrack for the upcoming movie Tron: Ares. Carla’s story is a reminder of the power of music and the joy it can bring, no matter the circumstances.
