Evanescence brought back Paul McCoy to perform “Bring Me to Life” during their set at the Louder than Life festival in Louisville, Kentucky, on Sunday. McCoy, who is also the lead singer of 12 Stones, originally rapped and provided backing vocals on the 2003 hit.
In fan-shot videos, frontwoman Amy Lee started the song solo before introducing McCoy just before his rap part. “C’mon Paul, are you gonna help me out with this or what?” she asked the crowd. After the song wrapped up, Lee excitedly declared, “The real McCoy, ladies and gentlemen!”
This was the first time Evanescence performed “Bring Me to Life” with McCoy since 2016. Over the years, they have also played the song live with other guests, including Jacoby Shaddix from Papa Roach and Sonny Sandoval from P.O.D. Fans were thrilled to see McCoy back on stage, making the performance a memorable highlight of the festival.
