3 Doors Down’s ‘The Better Life’ Set For Vinyl Reissue

3 Doors Down have announced a vinyl reissue of their debut album, The Better Life. Originally released in 2000, the vinyl will be available for pre-order on May 2 and will arrive in June.

The Better Life, which is certified 6x platinum in the US, is best known for the Mississippi band’s lead single, “Kryptonite.” The breakout song hit No. 3 on the Billboard Hot 100, topped multiple rock charts, and was certified 8x platinum in the US. Other singles from the album included “Loser,” which spent 21 weeks atop the Billboard Mainstream Rock Tracks chart; “Duck and Run,” which also topped the Billboard Mainstream Rock Tracks chart for three weeks; and “Be Like That,” which peaked at No. 24 on the Billboard Hot 100.

“Looking back on it, I didn’t realize how volatile every moment was. We look back and MAN, that was dangerous. How in the world did we get out of that alive? It was SO much. It was like having a backstage pass to life,” frontman Brad Arnold previously said of the album. “You just wind up in so many different places and situations with people that you just don’t normally find yourself in. But I’ll tell you, I’m still happy to be here and joyful to be here and a lot more thankful to be here than I was then. I thought I was thankful to be there then, now I know I am thankful to be here.”

In 2020, 3 Doors Down celebrated the album’s 20th anniversary with The Better Life: 20th Anniversary Edition. Back in March, the band announced a vinyl version of their 2002 sophomore album, Away From The Sun, which features top 10 hits like “Here Without You” and “When I’m Gone.” Last year, “Kryptonite” joined the Spotify Billions Club.

Order The Better Life on vinyl now.
