“The album starts where I’m unsure of where I belong, and I don’t know who my true friends are. I’m trying to figure out who I am and my values. By the end of the album, I’ve realized that I need to let go of the need to be liked by everybody and wanting to fit in every room with every person I meet,” Lapid told Grammy.com. “The moral of Buzzkill is that you only feel like a buzzkill with the wrong people,”

Since then, she has stayed busy on a global headline tour. The North American leg continues to roll on with stops in Charlotte, Atlanta, Orlando, Houston, Austin, Dallas, Phoenix, and San Diego before wrapping up June 28th at Los Angeles’ El Rey Theatre.

The Maryland native was discovered via a series of viral ukulele covers on TikTok. Soon, original songs like “Producer Man” and “When She Loved Me” were gaining traction on the app In 2022, she released The Outsider EP, an 8-track project on Republic Records. It featured the viral single “In My Mind” which has been certified gold. She followed up that EP with to love in the 21st century, a 10-track project that tells the story of a relationship from beginning to end. An extended edition, to love in the 21st century: the epilogue, came out later that same year. Lapid’s collaboration with Whethan, “Cruise Control,” was used in the Disney/Pixar film Inside Out 2.
