WWE has a unique way of drawing in celebrities. For instance, Blondie icons Debbie Harry and Chris Stein were VIP guests at the 2000 Royal Rumble held at Madison Square Garden. Stein recently shared a post reminiscing about that night, where he, his wife, and Harry enjoyed prime seats at the popular WWE event.
In his post, he included a video still featuring himself, Harry, and wrestler Bubba Ray Dudley. He also shared a photo of his special folding chair from the event. “The VIP seats got to keep the chairs,” Stein wrote in the caption. He added, “Debbie staring down Bubba Dudley. Events from this period were truly nuts. Some storylines were demented, of course, things that wouldn’t fly today.”
Stein mentioned that he had never watched the footage before, even though they still have the chairs. It’s pretty cool that he and his wife kept their chairs from the 2000 Royal Rumble, especially since they aren’t huge wrestling fans. But let’s be honest, that chair is a neat piece of memorabilia. It would be hard to just toss it aside.
In fact, he could probably sell it for a good price on eBay or at an auction. The idea of owning such a quirky piece of Blondie-related history would likely attract some unique collectors. It’s a fun reminder of a wild night in wrestling history, blending music and sports in a way that only WWE can.
