Jeremy Zucker has released a new single called “surprise!” This track is part of his upcoming album, Garden State, which will be out on August 22 via Mercury Records. “Surprise!” is an acoustic ballad that serves as a heartfelt message to Zucker’s younger self, reminding him that it’s okay not to know what the future holds. He shares, “It’s surreal for me because it’s a letter to my younger self, who’s dream I’m literally living.” The line “Cuz strange as it seems, I’m living your dreams, the voice coming out your speakers” really resonates with him, as it reflects both time travel and the idea that listeners might connect with their future selves.
Garden State is Zucker’s third full-length album. It features the lead single “Hometown,” which is about returning to his New Jersey roots and seeing his childhood from an adult perspective. The 14-track album captures Zucker’s journey of moving across the country to chase his musical dreams.
In September, Zucker will kick off the “Welcome to the Garden State Tour.” The North American leg starts on September 16 in San Diego at The Observatory North Park and will hit major cities like Nashville, New York, Toronto, and Los Angeles throughout October. He also announced a second leg of the tour in Australia later this fall.
