Drummer Josh Freese is back with Nine Inch Nails! After parting ways with the Foo Fighters in May, Freese is excited to rejoin the band he played with from 2005 to 2008.
In an Instagram post, Freese shared that leaving Nine Inch Nails in 2008 was a tough choice. He wanted to be home with his family as they were expecting their third child. He reflected on his time with NIN, saying, “Every night I walked off stage thinking, ‘That was incredible. We absolutely crushed it.'” He emphasized the unique energy and satisfaction he felt after each show.
Freese will hit the road with Trent Reznor and the band when their Peel It Back world tour kicks off in the U.S. on August 6 in Oakland, California. He expressed his excitement about touring again, saying, “Being back on tour with Trent and the crew is something I’m incredibly excited about. To be part of that energy again feels amazing.”
Freese encouraged fans to catch one of the shows, promising they will be unforgettable.
Meanwhile, the Foo Fighters have reportedly brought in Ilan Rubin, a former NIN drummer, to fill Freese’s spot. Stay tuned for more updates on both bands!
