Taylor Swift has officially announced her new album, The Life of a Showgirl. This will be her 12th album, following 2024’s The Tortured Poet’s Department.
On August 11, a countdown appeared on her website with bright orange glitter and the message “EXPIRES 12 AT 12:12AM ET.” Fans quickly connected this to an album announcement after Swift’s social media team posted, “Thinking about when she said ‘See you next era…’”
Once the countdown ended, pre-orders for The Life of a Showgirl were available on her webstore. Fans can order CDs, cassettes, and a special orange glitter vinyl. While the release date is still a mystery, shipping dates suggest the album will drop before October 13, 2025.
The cover art and track list are not yet revealed, but this album is significant as it marks Swift’s first release since she regained full control of her music catalog. Swift has described her albums as “my memories and my sweat and my handwriting and my decades of dreams.” Fans can expect The Life of a Showgirl to showcase her artistic growth and creative freedom.
In addition to the album news, Swift will join her boyfriend Travis Kelce on the podcast New Heights to discuss the album. The episode will air on Wednesday at 7 PM ET.
