Mastodon’s Brann Dailor Unveils New Track ‘Lake of Rust’ with Arcadea Project

Brann Dailor, the vocalist and drummer of Mastodon, has released a new song with his synth-driven side project, Arcadea. The track is titled “Lake of Rust” and will be featured on their upcoming album, *Exodus of Gravity*, set to drop on August 22.

Core Atoms, a member of Arcadea, describes “Lake of Rust” as a journey. “Our hero is crossing a giant lake of lava with floating icebergs,” he explains. “They are heading towards a galactic lighthouse, the mysterious source of light for New Arcadea. This is everything they see on their adventure.”

Atoms adds that the song captures strong human emotions like power, anger, and revenge. “It’s about getting there and saving the day no matter what,” he says.

In other news related to Mastodon, former guitarist Brent Hinds has spoken out against his ex-bandmates. After leaving the band in March, Hinds commented on an Instagram post featuring a 2012 Mastodon performance, saying, “They kicked me out of the band for embarrassing them for being who I am.” He went on to express his feelings about the band, stating, “I’ve never met three people that were so full of themselves. It’s disgusting.”

Mastodon announced that Hinds’ departure was a mutual decision. Stay tuned for more updates on both Mastodon and Arcadea!
