Jack White has fired back at Steven Cheung, Donald Trump’s White House communications director, who called him a “washed up, has-been loser” and said he was “masquerading as a real artist.” Cheung’s comments came after White criticized Trump’s “vulgar, gold leafed and gaudy” redecoration of the White House in an Instagram post.
In a new post, White highlighted that he has been vocal about his disapproval of Trump since the 2016 campaign, but it was his remarks about the Oval Office decor that finally got a reaction from the administration. He questioned, “How petty and pathetic and thin-skinned could this administration get?” He also joked about Cheung’s comment, saying, “‘Masquerading as a real artist’? Thank you for giving me my tombstone engraving!”
White didn’t hold back, stating, “Well here’s my opinion, Trump is masquerading as a human being.” He expressed his belief that the fight against fascism is ongoing, saying, “I was raised to believe that we defeated fascism in World War II and that we would never allow it again in the world.”
While White doesn’t always share his political views, he made it clear that he won’t stay silent about Trump. He warned that Trump poses a danger not just to America, but to the entire world, saying, “This man is dismantling democracy and endangering the planet on a daily basis, and we all know it.
