The Mock-Ups, a new band featuring Gerard Way from My Chemical Romance and members of The Interrupters, have released their debut single. The song is titled “I Wanna Know Your Name.” Gerard Way plays bass and sings, while Jesse Bivona from The Interrupters is on drums. Aimee Interrupter provides backing vocals, and the track was produced by Kevin Bivona, the guitarist for The Interrupters.
The band also includes guitarist Michael Shulz, who works with signature artists at Fender. Gerard Way has a special connection with The Interrupters, as their cover of Billie Eilish’s “bad guy” was featured in the Netflix series The Umbrella Academy, which is based on his comic book series.
This summer, Way has been busy touring stadiums with My Chemical Romance, performing their 2006 album in full at each show. The tour wrapped up on Saturday in Tampa, Florida. Fans of both bands are excited to see what The Mock-Ups will do next!
