Sum 41 Drummer Frank Zummo to Release Mental Health Memoir and New EP

Sum 41 drummer Frank Zummo is set to share his story in a new book titled *Unbreakable Rhythm: My Journey Through Music, Wellness, and Mental Strength*. The book will be released on November 11 through Modern Drummer Publications.

Zummo teamed up with music writer Jason Pettigrew to create a unique narrative. Unlike many musicians who focus on wild tour stories or scandalous moments, Zummo aims to offer something different. “This is not that book,” he said, emphasizing his desire to share a more meaningful journey.

The idea for the book began during a 2023 School of Rock Workshop. After performing with Sum 41 and The Offspring, Zummo met Pettigrew at House of Vans in Chicago. Their conversation sparked the book’s opening pages.

The book features insights from notable figures, including Dhani Harrison, Tommy Lee from Motley Crüe, Deryck Whibley of Sum 41, and Kevin Lyman, the founder of Vans Warped Tour. Zummo’s goal is to highlight how these workshops have positively impacted lives. “I want this message to reach people around the world,” he said.

In addition to the book, Zummo will release an EP called *Feels* on October 24, which serves as the soundtrack for the memoir. Fans can listen to the first single, “thank u (feat. Sorry x),” starting September 26.

Zummo will also be hitting the road for a book tour, mixing book talks with drum clinics. Here are some of his upcoming stops:

– Dec. 12, 2025—Syracuse, NY @ School of Rock
– Dec. 14, 2025—East Rutherford, NJ @ New York Giants Pre-Game Concert w/ School of Rock
– Jan. 10, 2026—Land Park, CA @ School of Rock
