Founded in 2016, Stealing Society is a band from the Philadelphia area. They released their first EP, …All by Chance, in 2021, featuring tracks like “Evanescent Love,” “Tattered Soul,” “No Winner,” and the title track. Their lead single, “Evanescent Love,” made a big splash with its music video filmed at Castle Roxx in Manayunk, racking up over 20,000 views in its first weekend.
In December 2022, founding members Joey Sita (vocals, guitar) and Colin Vaughn (bass) revitalized the band. They welcomed new members Alex Buyser on drums and Jake Biondi on guitar, with David Lee Melendez adding both lead and backing vocals. Since reforming in May 2023, they’ve played numerous gigs, showcasing a mix of original songs, high-energy covers, and acoustic sets. A highlight was their performance at Rivet in Pottstown, PA, in April 2024, where they rocked the stage with ‘90s and 2000s alt-rock covers and new original tracks.
Since their debut EP, Stealing Society has released several singles, including “Facade of Calm,” an intense alternative-metal track featuring Melendez and Biondi. They also dropped “Fun and Games,” which blends ‘80s rock with modern alt-metal vibes, featuring fast riffs and dynamic vocals.
Their musical influences include legends like Guns N’ Roses, Metallica, Foo Fighters, Soundgarden, and the emotional sounds of Pearl Jam, Audioslave, and Pink Floyd.
