BENEE has released a new song called “Underwater.” This track is part of her upcoming album, Ur An Angel I’m Just Particles, which will be out on November 7th through Republic Records. BENEE explains, “I wrote ‘Underwater’ about that disconnect between how effortless you seem and how heavy you really feel. I think a lot of people will recognize themselves in that.”
To celebrate her album launch, BENEE will perform at The Masonic Lodge at Hollywood Forever in Los Angeles on the same day. “Underwater” follows her earlier singles “Cinnamon,” “Off The Rails,” “Animal,” and “Sad Boiii.” She shared that she has been working on this album for about three years and is excited to finally release it. “I’m so proud of it—it means the world to me!” she said.
Ur An Angel I’m Just Particles explores themes of existential dread, love, and identity. BENEE describes the album as a journey through feelings of being small in a big world and questioning the reality of connections. The songs reflect struggles with obsession, heartbreak, and the fear of fading away.
This new album follows her 2022 EP, Lychee, which featured hits like “Doesn’t Matter” and “Beach Boys.” BENEE also recently covered New Radicals’ “You Get What You Give” for the 2025 MTV VMAs. You can now order Ur An Angel I’m Just Particles on vinyl or CD.
