Sabrina Carpenter has been named Variety’s 2025 Hitmaker of the Year! This honor is part of the magazine’s Hitmakers issue, which celebrates the key players behind the year’s top 25 most popular songs, based on Billboard and Luminate charts. Sabrina is the ninth artist to receive this title, joining past winners like Charli XCX, Harry Styles, SZA, and Elton John.
Executive Music Editor Jem Aswad praised Sabrina, saying, “We’ve been huge fans for many years. She balances pop with provocation and is clearly in control of her career and artistry — Sabrina is a boss!” She has attended the Hitmakers event twice before and was featured on last year’s Young Hollywood cover.
Sabrina will be honored at an exclusive brunch in Los Angeles on December 6th, with TikTok and Riot Games as Premier Partners of the event.
2025 has been a big year for Sabrina. She kicked it off by winning two Grammy Awards for her album Short & Sweet. In August, she released her seventh studio album, Man’s Best Friend, which debuted at No. 1 on the Billboard 200. The album’s first single, “Manchild,” topped the charts and racked up over 180 million streams in the U.S. in its first week.
Recently, Sabrina made her Grand Ole Opry debut on October 7th, calling it a “magical night.” She performed in a stunning Bob Mackie gown and thanked Sheryl Crow for introducing her.
