If you think being a metal fan will protect you from Whamageddon, think again. Poppy has just released a cover of the holiday classic “Last Christmas” by Wham! The track was produced by Jordan Fish, the former keyboardist of Bring Me the Horizon, and is part of Spotify’s Singles Holiday series.
“Christmas came early,” Fish said about the release. You can listen to Poppy’s cover exclusively on Spotify now.
For those unfamiliar, Whamageddon is a viral game where players try to avoid hearing “Last Christmas” until December 24. The game officially starts on December 1, so you can enjoy Poppy’s version guilt-free until then!
This cover adds to a busy year for Poppy. She has been touring in support of her latest album, “Negative Spaces,” which will be released in 2024. She also collaborated with Amy Lee from Evanescence and Courtney LaPlante from Spiritbox on the single “End of You.”
