Kings of Leon Unveils Surprise EP: Their First Independent Release on Love Tap Records

Kings of Leon has just released their new EP, titled EP #2, on November 7. This marks their first new music in over twenty years and their debut as an independent band on Love Tap Records, with distribution handled by Virgin Music. The four-track project features their first self-produced recordings.

The EP showcases a mix of styles, moving from alternative rock to folk-inspired sounds. The vocals are stripped down, and the production feels raw and unfinished. Kings of Leon has won four GRAMMY Awards, including Record of the Year for “Use Somebody” in 2010. Their first EP, “Holy Roller Novacaine,” came out in 2003 and gained popularity in the UK. Since then, they have released nine studio albums and built a global fanbase, known for hits like “Sex on Fire” and “Pyro.”

This new release follows their recent collaborations with Zach Bryan on “We’re Onto Something” and “Bowery,” the latter of which reached No. 1 on US streaming platforms and received positive reviews.

The four songs on EP #2 each have their own vibe. “All The Little Sheep” features electric guitar power chords and raw vocals for an alternative rock feel. “To Space” takes a folksy turn, driven by strong vocals and a pounding drum beat, including a lengthy instrumental section. “Pit To The Rind” is slower and more melancholic, showcasing polished vocals and simple harmonies. Finally, “The Wolf” puts the drums front and center, ending the EP on an ominous note.

Looking ahead, Kings of Leon plans to celebrate the end of 2025 with two New Year’s Eve shows in Las Vegas. Fans can catch “Kings of Leon: Live in Las Vegas” on December 30 and 31 at The Venetian Theatre. Tickets are available now!
