Nikki Sixx Defends Vince Neil of Motley Crue Amidst Criticism

Nikki Sixx defended Vince Neil this week after fans criticized the singer’s fitness and voice on social media. This backlash followed the announcement of the band’s summer 2026 tour. One fan suggested that Vince should work on his voice and get in shape before the shows. Sixx quickly responded, saying, “Did you hear him in Vegas? He sounded solid and bad a.” He was referring to the band’s Las Vegas residency, which wrapped up earlier this year. These shows were the first for Neil since he suffered multiple strokes last December.

Vince has experienced four strokes over the years, with two going undetected until doctors examined his brain. He woke up on Christmas night unable to move his left leg and arm. After extensive rehabilitation, he has regained some sensation in his legs but still struggles with certain movements on stage, like running back and forth.

Sixx also addressed fans asking for the return of founding guitarist Mick Mars, who retired from touring in 2022 due to health issues. “Remember, Mick retired because his health couldn’t handle life on the road,” Sixx said. “We all understand that, so why would you want to put him through it again?”

The Return of the Carnival of Sins tour kicks off on July 17, 2026, in Burgettstown, Pennsylvania, and wraps up on September 26 in Ridgefield, Washington. Tesla and Extreme will join them on this tour. The band has sold over 100 million records and completed more than 30 concert tours throughout their career. Plus, one dollar from every ticket will go to the After School Arts Program.
