Metallica has released video clips featuring two songs from their first night in Australia on the M72 World Tour. The band shared footage of “Holier Than Thou” and “The Unforgiven” from their November 1 show at Optus Stadium in Perth. Both tracks are from their iconic fifth album, commonly known as The Black Album, which came out in 1991.
Before hitting the stage, the band expressed their excitement, saying, “After 12 long years, the wait is finally over. We’ve arrived in Australia, and we’ve brought the #M72 World Tour with us.” They also mentioned that Evanescence and Suicidal Tendencies would be opening for them that night.
This concert marked the start of a six-show run in the region, with five performances in Australia and one in New Zealand. Metallica hadn’t played in Australia since 2010, making this tour highly anticipated. A unique feature of the M72 World Tour is that the band does not repeat the same setlist for multiple nights in one city, keeping each show fresh for fans.
For those who missed the concert, both videos are now available online. The clips showcase the band delivering powerful performances while the crowd roared with excitement. Fans can check out the videos to relive the experience and stay updated on upcoming tour dates. Metallica continues to prove why they are one of the biggest names in rock music.
