Queen Unveils Immersive 360-Degree Virtual Reality Experience to Celebrate 50th Anniversary of ‘Bohemian Rhapsody’

Queen has launched a 360-degree VR experience to celebrate the 50th anniversary of “Bohemian Rhapsody.” This exciting feature went live on November 28. The band shared that you can use a smartphone, tablet, computer, or VR headset to explore visuals that honor their iconic song. This includes a specially made video and rare photos.

The video is set in a white void that resembles the cover of “A Night At The Opera.” While watching, you can enjoy new footage of the band performing live. The experience also includes the original promotional video, on-screen lyrics, and a showcase of single covers from around the world. Plus, you’ll find rare photos that complement the classic track.

If you’re using a computer, you can navigate the white space by dragging your mouse. For mobile users, turn your phone sideways and move it around. If you have a VR headset, just slip your phone into the viewer and immerse yourself in the world of the song. An instructional video is available for those who need assistance.

“Bohemian Rhapsody” first reached No. 1 in the UK on November 29, 1975. The song has sold millions of copies and is the most-streamed song of the 20th century. It was the lead single from Queen’s fourth studio album. Despite concerns that a six-minute single would fail, the band stood firm.

“A Night At The Opera” topped the charts in five countries when it was released in November 1975, including the UK. To mark its 50th anniversary, the album has been reissued on crystal clear vinyl. “Bohemian Rhapsody” is also available in new formats, including a transparent blue heavyweight 7-inch vinyl and an exclusive 12-inch picture disc. The new 360 experience is part of the Queen The Greatest series.
