Parkway Drive has announced the cancellation of their Park Waves Australia touring festival. The event was set to kick off in February and included 11 stops across Australia.
In a heartfelt statement on Facebook, the band expressed their disappointment. “This is a message we never imagined we’d have to write, and it weighs heavily on us,” they said. “Just writing this feels like a kick in the guts. But here we are – another festival being crushed by the rising costs across our entertainment industry. It hurts to be another casualty in this chapter of the Australian music scene.”
The band explained that they explored every option to keep the festival going, but the current circumstances made it impossible. They thanked fans who bought tickets and those who support live music in Australia. “Your support is what keeps this culture alive and standing strong through the worst of times,” they added.
For those who purchased tickets, refunds will be issued.
