Jillian Lauren Shriner, the wife of Weezer bassist Scott Shriner, has filed for divorce. In the court documents, she cites irreconcilable differences as the reason for the split. Lauren is seeking joint physical and legal custody of their two teenage children, as well as spousal support. She also wants her legal name changed back to Lauren.
The couple has been married since 2005. This divorce comes after a tumultuous year for the Shriners. Earlier this year, Lauren was arrested for allegedly pointing a gun at police officers during an incident with the Los Angeles Police Department. She was initially charged with attempted murder but later faced two firearm-related felonies. Fortunately, she was granted a mental health diversion, which allowed her to avoid jail time. Just days after her arrest, Scott performed with Weezer at Coachella.
In March, Lauren also shared that she had been diagnosed with cancer. Fans are hoping for the best for both Lauren and Scott during this challenging time.
