Fender Musical Instruments Corporation has launched a special series of signature guitars and basses to celebrate Iron Maiden’s 50th anniversary. This collection features instruments designed for band members Dave Murray, Adrian Smith, and Janick Gers, along with a bass for Steve Harris.
At the top of the lineup is the Custom Shop Masterbuilt Dave Murray Stratocaster, priced at $18,999. Masterbuilder Andy Hicks worked closely with Murray to create this guitar, which includes 21 medium jumbo stainless-steel frets and a walnut neck shaped like a ’60s-style oval “C.” It also features powerful Seymour Duncan Hot Rails pickups for the bridge and neck, plus a JB Jr. middle pickup for added versatility. Hicks shared, “Dave Murray has always been my favorite guitar hero. His style is brilliant, and he showed me that Fender belongs in heavy metal.”
The series also includes three Stratocasters. The Limited Edition 50th Anniversary Dave Murray Stratocaster is available for $1,799.99 and comes with three Seymour Duncan pickups and a Floyd Rose R2 double-locking tremolo. The Janick Gers model is priced at $1,699.99 and features a 7.25-inch-radius rosewood fingerboard with vintage tall frets and JB Jr. pickups. Adrian Smith’s Jackson SC1 is also $1,799.99, equipped with DiMarzio DP 100 and Fender Noiseless Sumerian Cobalt pickups, plus a comfortable compound-radius fingerboard.
Steve Harris’s Precision Bass is available for $1,699.99, featuring an all-maple body with a Satin Black finish and a mirrored pickguard. It includes a Precision split P Bass pickup and comes with Rotosound Steve Harris Signature flat-wound strings.
Iron Maiden formed in East London in 1975, and Murray has played on all 17 of their studio albums. You can find these instruments on the Fender website.
