Jimmy Page looks back on Led Zeppelin’s performance at the Ahmet Ertegun Tribute Concert.

On December 10, 2007, Led Zeppelin’s surviving members—Robert Plant, Jimmy Page, and John Paul Jones—reunited for their first concert in 19 years at the Ahmet Ertegun Tribute Concert in London’s O2 Arena. Now, Page is looking back on that unforgettable night.

He shared photos from the concert on Instagram, revealing that they were initially offered a short 20- to 30-minute set. Page felt that wasn’t enough. “We needed to do a full-length set,” he wrote. “The energy and synergy would build as the show went on. We would have regretted not playing at least another hour.”

Page wanted to impress the audience. “I just really wanted to go out there, play well, and show what we could do,” he said. He hoped fans would leave saying, “I expected them to be good, but I had no idea they could deliver like this.”

In another post featuring a video of their performance of “Kashmir,” Page described the excitement he felt as the concert approached. “The adrenaline was rising. The response was so positive. The spirit of the band was shining.”

Jason Bonham, son of the late drummer John Bonham, played drums for the show. He commented on Page’s post, saying, “So grateful to have played with you on so many occasions, but this one was very special.”

The O2 concert remains the last time all three surviving members of Led Zeppelin performed together, making it a historic moment for fans.
