Metallica recently released a video from their December 3 show at the Beyon Al Dana Amphitheatre in Bahrain. This concert was special as it marked the band’s first performance in the Kingdom of Bahrain. The event attracted 10,000 fans as part of their M72 world tour.
During the show, frontman James Hetfield connected with the crowd, saying, “Metallica loves Bahrain. We are very blessed to be here. There are some old faces we see here — you traveled to see us — and there are new faces, and we’re so glad you’re here.”
The M72 world tour is named after the band’s 2023 album, *72 Seasons*. Over the next two years, the tour will take them to multiple continents. Recently, Metallica also performed at Formula 1 events in the region. They headlined the post-race concert at the Qatar Airways Qatar Grand Prix on November 30 in Doha, Qatar, and will play at the Abu Dhabi Grand Prix on December 6.
The tour has included stops in Australia and New Zealand, marking the band’s first performances in that region in over a decade. Their last show there was at the Soundwave Festival in 2013. Evanescence and Suicidal Tendencies opened for them during the Australian leg of the tour, which featured “One Night Only” shows instead of the usual “No-Repeat Weekend” format.
Looking ahead, Metallica will continue touring in 2026 with shows across Europe. They have dates lined up in Greece, Romania, Poland, Germany, Switzerland, Italy, Hungary, Ireland, Scotland, Wales, and England. Support acts for these shows will include Gojira, Knocked Loose, Pantera, and Avatar. Fans can check out all the 2026 tour dates for more details.
