Rise Against frontman Tim McIlrath recently had a special moment at the Martin Guitar Museum in Nazareth, Pennsylvania. The museum is home to the very first Martin guitar ever made. When McIlrath was given the chance to play it, he took a seat and began strumming “Swing Life Away,” singing the first verse of the song.
You can check out the footage of this performance on the Rise Against Facebook page.
The Martin Guitar Company is also known for creating the 1959 D-18E, which Kurt Cobain famously played during Nirvana’s MTV Unplugged performance in 1993. That guitar made headlines when it sold for a record-breaking $6 million at auction in 2020.
In other news, Rise Against is gearing up for a U.S. tour starting in March to promote their latest album, “Ricochet,” which will be released in 2025. Fans can look forward to seeing them live and enjoying their new music!
