Yungblud has teamed up with some big names in rock, including the alt-rock legends, the Smashing Pumpkins. But there’s one artist he’s really hoping to collaborate with: Eddie Vedder of Pearl Jam.
In a recent podcast, Yungblud shared that he hit it off with Vedder when they both performed at a private event last December. He said, “Eddie’s such an inspiration to me, especially vocally. I think we might write together in the future.” This suggests that they may have already discussed the possibility of working together.
Interestingly, both Yungblud and Vedder share a producer, Andrew Watt. Yungblud is currently working on a new album with Watt, who has also produced for Vedder and played in his Earthlings solo band.
During the podcast, Yungblud also addressed online comments about him. He mentioned that negative feedback doesn’t bother him. “A lot of people have a lot to say about me,” he said. “But I think that’s what I’m here for. It doesn’t get me down. I think it’s fun. I love reading the comments about me. It’s just fuel.”
Yungblud also spoke about his connection with Ozzy Osbourne before the rock legend’s passing. He said, “It’s been the biggest emotional wave I have ever had to deal with. The past three weeks before he went, we were on the phone, we were texting, we were vibing. I was trying to get to know this guy that I’ve loved since I was two years old.” He added that he had written an album inspired by icons like Ozzy, Freddie Mercury, Mick Jagger, and David Bowie.
Yungblud’s latest collaboration with Aerosmith, the One More Time EP, was released in November.
