The Foo Fighters will be without guitarist Pat Smear for several upcoming shows. In a recent Instagram post, the band shared that Pat had a “bizarre gardening accident” that resulted in multiple broken bones in his left foot. While he’s recovering, he will miss a few performances.
The band expressed their support for Pat, saying, “We’ll miss our beloved Pat as much as you will, but we want him fully healed and back on his feet as soon as possible.”
The exact number of shows Smear will miss hasn’t been specified. The Foo Fighters have a concert scheduled in Mexico this Saturday, followed by a benefit concert in Los Angeles on January 14, which is also Dave Grohl’s birthday. They will then head to Tasmania on January 24. After that, their schedule is clear until May.
During Pat’s absence, guitarist Jason Falkner will join the band. Falkner has previously played with artists like Beck and St. Vincent. Fans can look forward to seeing the Foo Fighters live, even as they send their best wishes to Pat for a speedy recovery.
