On Saturday, January 31, 2026, Manayunk transforms Main Street into a winter wonderland with the Founders Philly Freeze Out. This all-day festival celebrates cold-weather culture, public art, and neighborhood vibes. The event stretches along Main Street, Canal View Park, and the RichardsApex parking lot, making it a perfect community gathering.
The day kicks off with the Freeze Out Run at 9:00 AM, a free three-mile run starting at 4358 Main Street. Participants can try out sneakers from Philadelphia Runner and New Balance, and there’s even an ice sculpture waiting at the finish line.
From 11:00 AM to 4:00 PM, enjoy overlapping activities, including the MNYK Chowder Crawl from 12:00 PM to 4:00 PM. Over 14 local restaurants will serve up unique chowder flavors, from chipotle chicken to classic clam. Grab a ticket for samples at each stop, a wristband, and a custom map to guide your culinary adventure.
A highlight of the day is the ice sculptures created by Ice Sculpture Philly, led by Peter Slavin. More than 22 sculptures and live carving demos will turn the area into an outdoor gallery. Check out the action at local spots like Bayou & Cactus and JD McGillicuddy’s.
The Founders Winter Market at Richards Apex features local makers selling handmade goods, while family-friendly activities include a snowy igloo photo op, a moonbounce, and live music. Don’t miss the traditional Chinese New Year Lion Dancing, adding a cultural touch to the festivities. Local bars and shops will have themed specials, making it a fun day for everyone!
