Yungblud’s IDOLS Tour Kicks Off with a Special Tribute to Ozzy Osbourne

Yungblud kicked off his IDOLS world tour at Qudos Bank Arena on January 11. He paid tribute to the late Ozzy Osbourne by covering one of his songs while fans lit up the arena with their lights. “Rock and roll is love,” Yungblud told the crowd, dedicating the song to “my friend up in the sky,” referring to Osbourne.

The show moved from the Hordern Pavilion to the larger arena, and Yungblud opened with an eight-minute track from his IDOLS album that got everyone hyped. As the show began, white confetti cannons exploded, setting the stage for an unforgettable night.

Brisbane punk band Dune Rats warmed up the crowd, and Black Sabbath’s music played through the speakers before Yungblud took the stage. Flamethrowers lined the front, adding heat to the performance, which featured both new IDOLS songs and older hits. Yungblud connected with the audience, diving into the crowd and even handing his guitar to a fan who played it left-handed onstage.

His love for Australia shone through as he mentioned Currumbin Wildlife Sanctuary, schooners, and Vegemite. The night ended with a shower of red confetti, and Yungblud was visibly emotional, with tears streaming down his face as he looked out at the crowd.

Yungblud performed at Black Sabbath’s final show last year. The tour continued to Melbourne on January 13 at the Sidney Myer Music Bowl, with stops in Adelaide on January 15, Brisbane on January 17 and 18, and Perth on January 20. Both Brisbane and Perth shows are sold out.
