Godsmack is set to release their cover of Black Sabbath’s “Sweet Leaf” to a wider audience. This track has been exclusive to the Japanese deluxe version of their 2000 album, *Awake*, but it will now be available as part of the upcoming 25th anniversary deluxe reissue of *Awake*, which drops on March 6.
The reissue will also feature a bonus track called “Why,” originally recorded for the 1999 football drama *Any Given Sunday*.
*Awake*, which first came out on October 31, 2000, produced hit singles like “Bad Magick,” “Greed,” and the title track.
In 2023, Godsmack released their latest album, *Lighting Up the Sky*. However, fans should note that guitarist Tony Rombola and drummer Shannon Larkin have since retired from the band.
Stay tuned for the reissue and enjoy the new music!
