Sharon Osbourne Negotiates with Live Nation to Bring Back Ozzfest by 2027

Sharon Osbourne has been in talks with Live Nation about bringing back Ozzfest, the iconic metal festival that ran from 1996 to 2018. In a January 2026 interview, she mentioned that the festival might return in 2027. “I’ve been talking to Live Nation about bringing [Ozzfest] back recently,” she said. “It was something Ozzy was very passionate about: giving young talent a stage in front of a lot of people.”

At 73, Sharon wants to shake things up for the new Ozzfest. She plans to mix different music styles and focus on new acts. The first Ozzfest kicked off in October 1996 as a two-day event. It quickly grew into a full touring festival, running most years until 2018. Over the years, it featured legendary bands like Slipknot, Metallica, Tool, Pantera, Marilyn Manson, Linkin Park, and Megadeth.

The last Ozzfest took place on New Year’s Eve 2018 in Inglewood, California, with Ozzy performing alongside Rob Zombie and DevilDriver. Sadly, Ozzy Osbourne passed away on July 22, 2025, at the age of 76. His death was ruled a heart attack, with Parkinson’s disease as a contributing factor.

In addition to Ozzfest, Sharon also announced plans for a Black Sabbath orchestral tour. Local orchestras will perform the band’s music with stunning visuals at venues across the country. “All of the creative direction for visuals at Ozzfest was mine,” she shared. “I can’t sing a note — I’m tone-deaf — but I can be creative, and I like to create things.” Fans are excited to see what’s next for Sharon and the legacy of Ozzy and Black Sabbath!
