Former I Prevail vocalist Brian Burkheiser has announced that he is now “officially a free, independent artist” after resolving a legal issue with his former band. Burkheiser left I Prevail in May 2025 and started teasing a solo project called Scatterbrain. He planned to kick things off with a song titled “Phases,” but faced delays due to an “unresolved dispute” with the band.
Instead of releasing “Phases,” Burkheiser introduced Scatterbrain in December with a cover of Taylor Swift’s “Look What You Made Me Do.” At that time, he expressed his eagerness to share his original music.
In a recent Instagram post, Burkheiser shared the good news that his legal issues are behind him. “Now that my legal dispute is behind me, I’m ready to share my story,” he wrote. He also announced that his first original song, “PHASES,” along with its music video, will be released next Friday.
I Prevail released their first album with Burkheiser, titled “Violent Nature,” in September. Fans can look forward to Burkheiser’s new music and the exciting next chapter of his career!
