Southern Man Encounters a Model Citizen: Honoring Brad Arnold

February 7, 2026, marked a tragic day in rock and roll as Brad Arnold, the front man and founding member of 3 Doors Down, passed away at the age of 47. His family shared the news on social media, stating, “With his beloved wife Jennifer and his family by his side, he passed away peacefully, surrounded by loved ones.”

In May 2025, Brad revealed that he had been diagnosed with stage 4 clear cell renal cell carcinoma, a serious form of kidney cancer. This diagnosis led the band to cancel their summer tour plans, but Brad remained hopeful. His faith served as a guiding light during this challenging time, and he found comfort in his own lyrics from “It’s Not My Time.”

To celebrate Brad’s life and legacy, we look back at a memorable interview he did when that song was first released. He fondly recalled a free concert at Day Off At The Slopes early in the band’s career. It was a special moment for him, as it was the first time he had ever seen snow!

Fans can listen to this heartfelt conversation where Brad shares his experiences and thoughts on music. It’s a tribute to a talented artist who touched many lives.

Brad Arnold will be missed, but his music and spirit will live on in the hearts of fans everywhere.
