Flea, the bassist of the Red Hot Chili Peppers, is set to release a cover of Frank Ocean’s song “Thinkin Bout You” this Wednesday. In an Instagram post, Flea shared how much the song and the entire album, Channel Orange, mean to him. He said, “I listened to that album over and over for months. It lives in me always, and I’m honored to play it.” He praised the song’s sentiment, lyrics, and timeless melody, and expressed his admiration for Frank Ocean, calling him one of his favorite living singers.
This cover will be part of Flea’s debut solo album, Honora, which is scheduled to drop on March 27. The album will also feature tracks like “A Plea” and “Traffic Lights,” which includes a collaboration with Thom Yorke.
In addition to the album release, Flea will kick off a solo tour across the U.S. in May. Fans can look forward to experiencing his new music live!
