Flea, the bassist of the Red Hot Chili Peppers, has just released his cover of Frank Ocean’s song “Thinkin Bout You.” This new instrumental track features Flea on both electric bass and trumpet. It will be part of his upcoming debut solo album, titled *Honora*, set to drop on March 27.
Flea shared his thoughts on Ocean’s 2012 album, *Channel Orange*, which includes “Thinkin Bout You.” He said, “When that record came out, it really blew me away. I listened to it ten million times. I loved it so much and still do. Just one of those real watershed moment records for me.” He added, “‘Thinkin Bout You’ is one of the many great songs on that record, and I thought it would be fun to play on trumpet.”
In addition to “Thinkin Bout You,” *Honora* will feature other tracks like “A Plea” and “Traffic Lights,” which includes a collaboration with Thom Yorke.
Flea is also gearing up for a U.S. solo tour that kicks off in May. Fans can look forward to an exciting year ahead!
