Dave Grohl made a surprise appearance at Super Bowl LX on Sunday at Levi’s Stadium in Santa Clara, California. His presence excited fans who are eager to see Foo Fighters perform at the next halftime show. The NFL shared a fun clip on social media of Grohl enjoying a beer after spotting himself on the Jumbotron.
In the game, the Seattle Seahawks defeated the New England Patriots 29-13. Fans quickly took to social media, calling for Foo Fighters to headline next year’s halftime show. One fan commented, “Foo Fighters’ next year’s halftime show,” while another added, “Put Foo Fighters for the next Halftime Show!!” Many fans noted how often the band’s music is played during football broadcasts. One user pointed out, “He should be on stage for how much they play Foo Fighters during the football games on TV,” referencing the Madden NFL 26 game soundtrack. Another fan tweeted, “@foofighters need to headline the #SuperBowl halftime show next year.”
This year, Bad Bunny headlined the halftime performance, with support from Lady Gaga and Ricky Martin. Celebrities like Pedro Pascal, Cardi B, Jessica Alba, and Karol G also made appearances. Bad Bunny performed hits and went viral for giving one of his GRAMMYs to a young fan during the show.
Dave Grohl revealed in 2018 that the NFL had reached out to him multiple times about performing at the halftime show, but Foo Fighters have yet to take the stage. In 2014, they did play a concert in a New York parking lot to kick off the Super Bowl weekend festivities. Fans are hopeful that next year will finally be their chance to see Foo Fighters at the Super Bowl.
