Guns N’ Roses’ 1987 Debut Album Makes a Comeback on Three Billboard Charts

Guns N’ Roses’ classic album *Appetite for Destruction* is back on three Billboard charts this week. It landed at No. 188 on the Billboard 200, No. 11 on the Top Hard Rock Albums, and No. 47 on the Top Rock and Alternative Albums. The 1987 album sold 9,650 equivalent units during the latest tracking period, with over 1,200 of those being physical sales.

Since its release, *Appetite for Destruction* has spent an impressive 261 weeks on the Billboard 200. It’s just three weeks away from hitting 100 weeks on the Top Hard Rock Albums list and needs ten more appearances to reach triple digits on the Top Rock and Alternative Albums.

This week, 13 albums reentered the Billboard 200, with *Appetite for Destruction* ranking tenth among them. Michael Jackson’s *Number Ones* was the highest returning album at No. 18, followed by Alice in Chains’ self-titled album at No. 83 and Bad Bunny’s *YHLQMDLG* at No. 90.

In addition to the album news, Guns N’ Roses’ new single “Nothin’” has made waves on the charts. It jumped from No. 12 to No. 10 on the Mainstream Rock Airplay chart and climbed two spots to No. 21 on the Rock and Alternative Airplay list. The band has released several singles this decade, but it’s unclear if they are working on a new album.

“Sweet Child O’ Mine” is still making its mark, rising to No. 15 on the Hard Rock Streaming Songs chart and improving on both the Billboard Global 200 and Billboard Global Excl. U.S. This iconic debut album remains one of the most successful hard rock albums ever. Guns N’ Roses will be touring Europe and the Americas this year, so fans can look forward to seeing them live!
