Exodus has just released the title track from their upcoming album, *Goliath*, on February 18. The album is set to drop on March 20 through Napalm Records and marks the return of vocalist Rob Dukes. The new song features violinist Katie Jacoby, adding a unique touch to the track.
The band describes *Goliath* as possibly their heaviest song ever and the slowest in their catalog, leaning towards doom metal. They said, “Just pure evil, as sinister as it gets,” highlighting Jacoby’s contribution of 18 string tracks that transform the song from horror to beauty. Compared to their usual thrash style, this track takes a slower approach, showcasing the riffs of guitarists Gary Holt and Lee Altus, while drummer Tom Hunting drives the rhythm.
The music video, directed by Tony Aguilera and Jim Louvau, features the band performing amid computer-generated destruction. On this album, Altus wrote four songs, with lyrics contributed by Holt, Dukes, Altus, and Hunting. Dukes rejoined Exodus in January 2025 after leaving in 2014. He previously sang on four studio albums from 2005 to 2010, taking over from Steve “Zetro” Souza, who led the band from 2014 to 2025.
The album was mixed and mastered by Mark Lewis, known for his work with bands like Whitechapel and Nile. Exodus, formed in 1979, released their debut album, *Bonded By Blood*, in 1985, which influenced many thrash metal bands.
Currently, Exodus is touring Canada with Megadeth and Anthrax until March 6. After that, they will support Kreator alongside Carcass and Nails in Europe from March 20 to April 25. They’ll wrap up with a North American tour with Sepultura from April 29 to May 29, ending at The Wiltern in Los Angeles. For more details, check out their official website.
