Sublime has officially signed a deal with Atlantic Records. This exciting partnership comes as the band prepares to release their first new album in 30 years. It will also be their first album featuring Jakob Nowell, the son of late frontman Bradley Nowell, alongside original members Bud Gaugh and Eric Wilson.
Bradley Nowell passed away in 1996, just before the release of Sublime’s last album. In 2009, Gaugh and Wilson formed a new band called Sublime with Rome, featuring singer Rome Ramirez. Recently, they reformed Sublime with Jakob Nowell in late 2023.
In a quirky statement, Jakob shared, “Atlantic told us that if we signed with them, they would pay for my experimental cosmetic surgery to have the body and head of a goat. They seem like real straight shooters, and their office has bowls of Halloween candy dated March of last year, but it still tasted fine to me.” He added, “We’re gonna change California music history or die trying.”
Fans can look forward to the new Sublime album, set to drop in late 2026. The band released a new single, “Ensenada,” in 2025, which climbed to #1 on the Billboard Alternative Airplay chart. Stay tuned for more updates on this legendary band!
