Passion Pit Unveils Exciting North American Summer Tour 2023: Dates, Cities, and Ticket Information Revealed!

Passion Pit, led by indie pop artist Michael Angelakos, has announced a headlining summer tour for 2026. The tour will include stops at clubs and festivals like Middle Waves Music Festival, Bonnaroo, the Minnesota Yacht Club Festival, and Up In The Sky Festival. Angelakos will perform with his bandmates: Giuliano Pizzulo (lead guitar/samples/synths), Eric Scullin (bass/synths), Denzel Cox (organs/synths), and Ben Barter (drums/drum machine). Tickets go on sale March 18.

Passion Pit started as a solo project for Angelakos, who created music in his dorm room in Boston. In 2006, he moved to Cambridge and began sharing his work with friends. He self-released the Chunk of Change EP, featuring songs like “Batty Lashes” and “Tons of Guns.” He sold the EP for $7 at his first show on March 20, 2007, at Emerson College. Although the stickers he used on the CDs weren’t meant for computers, no one asked for a refund. He still owes his friend Colin Pratt about $250 for printing the record sleeves.

Encouraged by friends Ian Hultquist and Adam Lavinsky, Angelakos formed a band that quickly sold out shows in Boston and was named Best New Band by the Boston Phoenix. In 2008, they signed with Frenchkiss, and Chunk of Change was re-released, featuring the hit “Sleepyhead,” which earned 3x Platinum certification. A remix of the song by Passion Pit and Sofi Tukker was released in March 2025.

To celebrate 20 years since the release of Chunk of Change, Passion Pit will launch the Pretty Penny EP. This project will honor their past while introducing new material from the full band, a first for Passion Pit. The release date and track list will be announced later.
